High temperatures and persistent strong winds continue to present significant challenges for firefighting operations. Ground crews remain in a holding pattern, awaiting a shift in weather conditions that would allow for safer and more effective suppression efforts.
Crews have been actively engaged in constructing a fire break along the northern edge of the fire to help contain its spread. On the southern end, exposure protection measures are being implemented to slow the fire’s advancement in that direction.
The fire has continued to grow northward and has now extended further into the Ochre Pit Cove area. Response teams are closely monitoring this development and adjusting strategies to address the evolving situation.
We will continue to share updates as new information becomes available. Thank you for your patience, support, and vigilance during this challenging time.
