Yesterday was considered a productive day in fire suppression with very little growth overnight.
Some Air Assets had a delay this morning with the weather but are planning mobilization as soon as they get clearance.
Continuing with a very similar plan to yesterday, the flareups in the Southeast corner near Perry’s Cove are still being protected with sprinklers and wet lines in addition to the ground support from Fire fighters, Forestry and Canadian Armed Forces. Patrols of structural areas continue with ample water being supplied to address hot spots.
NL Power, Emergency Response Division with the assistance of Town officials from Small Point – Adam’s Cove are continuing property loss assessments into Ochre Pit Cove today.
The forecasted rain should assist with the suppression efforts to hopefully move much more quickly to advance containment.
